Another close game which could have gone either way but was eventually won by Liverpool 2..

Although closely contested I felt we let this one slip which was a little disappointing. However, as always, the team fought to the last but could not quite get over the line.

Unfortunately, Mark Wadsworth was taken out by a stomach bug and had to withdraw at the last moment (although he had given due notice that this might be the case). Sanjoy Banerjee stepped in which was good of him.

My game was over very quickly after a sharp encounter in the early exchanges which blew itself leaving the draw  almost  foregone conclusion.

Sanjoy had a fine win against the young up and coming Marek Korinskij.

With the results looking like they were going our way Tom Webb then took the draw against Tom Iveson giving us a 2-1 lead with four to play.

Dave Hurley had an exciting game against Marek’s brother (Nikolas). It looked like Dave might win this but there was a lot of tactical depth in the position and it was Nikolas who emerged victorious.

Luke duly won but Howard then lost in another very close skirmish in which Tim Miles stood firm against a powerful attack before countering to take the win.

Mark Williams had a very close game with Dave Leeming but eventually succumbed.
