Atticus 2 draw with Liverpool 30/9/19

For a long time I felt we were favourites for this one, John Williams had an early draw following a big exchange of pieces.

Tom Bimpson was trying out a new opening, this looked quite a novel line and he looked to be under pressure early on but this proved to be part of the plan and Tom had a quick victory in 23 moves. A lot of the remaining games looked equal but Steve Kee looked to be under pressure from Dom Foord however Andrej looked to be in control in his match. As the matches drew to a conclusion Luke's big time advantage worked in his favour and he converted a very close fought end game. David Odunaiya tried his best to create changes but Mike Hardman held firm. Giorgos had a tough game against Sameen and another draw was agreed. In the end Andrej will be disappointed as he let his advantage slip away and he suffered a very rare defeat. FINAL SCORE 3.5/3.5
